I am an activist and scholar. I seek the "other world" activists say "is possible." I use my activism and scholarly work to search for more inclusive and egalitarian alternatives beyond mainstream capitalism representative (bought and paid for) democracy. To this end, I have lived all over the world, been involved with multiple movements and causes from the Occupy in New York to squatting movements in Europe, as well as other economic and social justice campaigns globally. Intellectually, I focus on the multitude of different ways that human societies and communities have organized themselves socially, politically, and economically (though I do not draw a distinction between these categories) both historically and at present, as well as how people have brought about change in these societies. To this end I am working on a PhD in Anthropology, focusing on alternative political forms and democratic expressions.
