Welcome...

I am a post-disciplinary scholar and social entrepreneur. I have degrees in Anthropology, Sociology, History, and Business Administration. As an intellectual and researcher, I am focused on understanding the ways human beings have organized their lives and communities across time and space, with a specific focus on reimagining alternatives to meet current global challenges. Additionally, as a social entrepreneur, I have an extensive track record across both non and for-profit organizations in development and management – specifically as founder of aibia, a non-profit educational and developmental organization with locations in Italy, Sierra Leone, and New York.

As a scholar, social entrepreneur, and activist, I seek the "other world" activists say "is possible." I use these methods to search for more inclusive and egalitarian alternatives beyond mainstream capitalist/representative democracy. To this end, I have lived all over the world, researched numerous places/themes, and been involved with multiple movements and causes from the Occupy in New York to squatting movements in Europe, as well as other economic and social justice campaigns globally.

Intellectually, I focus on the multitude of different ways that human societies and communities have organized themselves socially, politically, and economically (though I do not draw a distinction between these categories) both historically and at present, as well as how people have brought about change in these societies.

Core to this is a "Daoist" approach, meaning that I apply nearly 25 years of working with ancient Chinese philosophical texts and Daoist practices, to apply Daoist social theory and a Daoist lens to modern Western capitalist lifestyles.

In applying the above logics, I have founded aibia, specifically to explore how we can learn to live and learn together in different, more egalitarian ways.

My work is global, from the United States, and Europe, to Sierra Leone, Jamaica, and China.
